What Is A Doula?

A doula is a trained professional who provides non-medical support throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period.

While your physician or midwife focuses on the medical care of you and your baby, my focus is you - your comfort, your confidence, your education, and your experience.

My goal is never to make decisions for you. My goal is to ensure you have the information, encouragement, and support needed to make the decisions that feel right for your family.

Holistic Maternity Care
at Natural Roots

Hunter Davis

Pregnancy and birth are about so much more than one day of labor. They're about preparing your body, mind, and family for one of life's greatest transitions.

As a licensed EMT, Certified Natural Health Practitioner, and Birth Doula, I offer a unique approach that blends evidence-based birth support with holistic wellness. While your physician or midwife is responsible for the medical care of you and your baby, my role is to support you through every stage of the journey, providing continuous emotional, physical, and educational support before, during, and after birth.

Every family deserves to feel heard, respected, and empowered to make informed decisions without pressure or coercion. Whether we're creating your birth preferences, practicing comfort measures for labor, preparing your partner, discussing nutrition and recovery, or simply navigating the unknowns together, my goal is to help you approach birth with confidence and peace of mind.

At Natural Roots, I believe birth support should extend beyond labor. Through my Holistic Maternity Care approach, I help families prepare not only for birth itself, but for a healthy pregnancy, a supported postpartum recovery, and the transition into parenthood.

Because birth isn't just about delivering a baby, it's about caring for the whole mother.
